    It doesn't surprise me and I'm not annoyed with them. It just strikes me as an indication of the softness of Rejoin sentiment (and the so-very-British nature of it) if we are *already* delighting in ruling out core parts of the EU project. Essentially setting our ambition to 'wind the clock back'.

    They are both included in the treaty The countries who have joined and have yet to use the euro will have to eventually But, like I say, what does burnham say when he sits down to negotiate and they ask why he doesnt want the euro or schengen?

    What is positive about it? The maastricht treaty includes the euro and schengen, no country has joined without signing the treaty

    Ah two anonymous "sources". This reeks of desperation. A country that looks down upon our finest achievements isn't worthy of joining it's as simple as that. Why is it with so many British that Schengen - good enough for 30 European nations - is beneath your dignity? Please stay out.
