Importantly, no good comes from pitting “rural” and “Chittenden county” schools against each other. We are one state, looking to do best for ALL of our students. If he actually cared about the well being of young people, he wouldn’t have encouraged his own district to vote no on their budget.

For me, a great challenge is in not sanitizing history while also being mindful of interracial dynamics at our school (PWI). Always working to bring in resistance, healing, and joy - even (maybe especially?) when teaching the darkest chapters of our history.
