    Democrats over 30 here. They’ve been doing this since at least since I was 12…and if there was ANY question about the Republican Party being animated by racists, there was no doubt immediately after Obama was inaugurated in 2009. Fuck Republicans. Bury them.

    Older politicians grew up in a landscape where the GOP (supposedly) was at least somewhat more genteel about their fascist aspirations. Now? I believe younger Democrats are extremely clear-eyed about how these fuckers want to and will kill us if we don't crush them first.

    This really is a generational shift IMO: Ossof is a year older than me, and people our age have spent our entire lives watching a murderous, incredibly evil GOP make everything in this country worse. We don't view them as misguided neighbors, we view them as they really are: the enemy of democracy.

    i submit to you the following: democrats running anti-trans ads are not "cowards." they didn't "cave." they aren't hostages. they aren't babies. they are just transphobic. if someone told me "you should go on tv and push bigotry" i would say "you should go to hell, bigoted asshole." wouldn't you?
