The most useful things AI seems to be useful for rn are (1) crime, (2) software development, (3) incremental improvements to search and data analysis. (1) is bad, (2) is in no small part due to bloat in SWE salaries, (3) is neat but not a particularly exciting affair.

I have the same attitude to AI as I did with crypto. It's a scam. AI is being scammed by the CEOs of those who need it to come true. Ed Zitron is one of the few who know the system and where those weak points are. It helps to have someone who knows industry jargon to explain the truth.

As someone who works in this space.... I find many of the responses to this likely the same people who have fallen for Elon/Tesla gimmick shit over & over. There is so much AI psychosis going on in the industry, so many CEOs have poisoned their own brains and the economics of AI are AWFUL

Every single numskull ex-reporter who has been paid off by the AI industry seems to have their knives out for Ed Zitron on Twitter today because he went on The Daily Show's podcast. I don't think it's coordinated, I just think they're all uniformly embarrassed by the same bad hill they're dying on.
