Like, if I create two IK and FK chains, and the original deform bones are under all that, the three chains have a sibling relationship instead of a parent/child relationship, and that lets you override transforms on the deform bones a lot easier.

learning how to do IK/FK switching also definitely illustrates how useful Copy Transforms is, and why Rigify and ARP both use it so extensively. It really frees you up to do more complex rigging with less worries about dependency loops.
