    you cant criticize anything fandom related as a marginalized person without getting put on 1000 "this evil person is an evil fascist" lists because fandom spaces are very progressive and grown up and not at all reactionary. it's lovely

    harry potter still consistently tops the most popular fics on AO3 & has barely budged at all over the years of trans people begging people to stop interacting with the fandom. malfoy is one of the most popular characters. bigots are not just now discovering transformative works, they've BEEN there

    nazi l0lic0ns have been a thing all along. the pr0st@sia guy borrows a lot of his language & framing from online fandom spaces. "fiction doesn't affect reality." Black fans who take issue with racist fanfics are far more likely to be driven out than people who write racist fanfics.

    turns out refusing to remove sex pests and racists from your spaces because of a commitment to a laissez-faire anti-intellectualism where you pretend the content you produce & consume is apolitical and all critique or boundary-placing is censorship is just a right wing rhetorical frame to begin with
