    I really annoys me that the Govt thinks you are only 'making a strong contribution to the UK' if: 1) you earn over 50k 2) you work in a narrowly define list of education/health jobs. Work in the third sector? Civil service? Volunteer? But earn average wage. You dont contribute. Back of the line.

    There is no "almost automatically" under the current system. All the Labour Party has done is sell their soul to pander to racists who wouldn't vote Labour anyway. 30 years to qualify to settle under asylum rules is half an adult lifetime in limbo. Ridiculous and cruel way to treat people.
