like does he think this is all justified for the greater good? ant doesn't seem to have any renewable PPAs, in like 3-5 years it seems like they'll be buying from higher marginal power cost compute sources than rivals. i do not believe ODCs will be cost competitive by then. what's the strategy here?

it's kinda interesting to me that the guy who says he wants Claude to understand itself as a good moral actor, no LAWS, no deepfakes, etc etc, also is fine with just burning diesel to run Claude. like if you believe Claude is a sentient genius or whatever wouldn't it be able to connect those dots?

Watched Carpenter's Prince of Darkness (1987) to end the spooky month. Proper occult fantasy horror. Solid jump scares and a great ending. Enjoyed it quite a lot. Some interesting, surprisingly non-cliche dialogues to boot.

if I'm being honest, it would not surprise me if in a couple years "weird, shitty AI menus and advertising" was an effective Bourdain-style indicator that you're going to get some delicious, authentic, inexpensive ethnic food. Berlin it probably already is.
