Ver postTl;dr if you're on iphone do NOT use the Patreon app to pledge to creators. If you notice you're not paying more it's because the creator chose to take the cost out of their own cut. It's so easy to avoid it.
Ver postThe only thing that backtracked them last time was the lawsuit from Epic Games against Apple; Patreon won't push back on their own and once the change is pushed they certainly will never roll back. I don't see things changing in two weeks.
Ver postBut no matter how much I remind folks, someone won't have seen any of this and will inevitably use the app to pledge after this change. They will pay more for it, and then I will be watching that payment sit in my account for 3 months. Every monthly charge is held too, not just the first one.
