    If you're an ally, you need to respect trans people more than that. If you're trans yourself, you can't tie your self-worth to this kind of thing. You're trans because you say so, not because of a p<0.05 statistically significant difference in grey matter in some regions.

    Trying to find a neurological or otherwise biological way to back up the truth of trans people's identities isn't the way, all you're doing there is saying that some dodgy statistical analysis carries more weight than trans people's actual, real, material conditions.

    Every time I see people citing brain MRI studies to back up the legitimacy of trans people's genders I'm just like... No, sweet innocent baby, don't. You're setting yourself up for a crisis when you find out about the foundational issues with brain sex MRIs.

    I do think that a major failure point of a lot of mainstream trans activism is the focus on responding to attacks on trans people in the same arena that those attacks are being made, i.e., indulging the notion that this is a philosophical debate over gender metaphysics and trying to win that one.
