Reminded of the time I got an email 6 yrs after leaving a company, complaining about some aspect of a system I'd built. I said I'd have rewritten that system 3x by now, and that's what they should do instead of complaining about my system which had successfully served the company for so many years.

All good. Just pushing back on the listing downsides without upsides in a discussion of technical tradeoffs. SQLite is an extremely good fit for the PDS but there are also lots of other approaches that would work. But SQLite, Postgres, or anything else would've required building good infra on top.
