    It’s not that the AI didn’t do a lot of good that was completely orthogonal and at different levels from where I was working, so there’d be as little duplicated work as possible, as was my intention from the beginning. But now I have to use my social skills to not step on some people’s toes.

    In terms of C++ functionality, I’d give it a C, but in terms of code style, correctness, performance, thread safety, memory usage, etc., I’d give it a D. So I’ve been working on extensive refactoring and then wrote up an 8,200 word rationale for all the specific C++17/20/23 and other changes.

    Hi, y’all. I took an extended absence from Bluesky to avoid election overload. I voted straight DSA LA ticket (doing my part!) and it all worked out, thank non-binary God. I’ve been extremely preoccupied with work for the past six weeks in refactoring a fairly large codebase written by contractors.
