    The demise is Salon isn't exactly "shocking" because what's shocking to anybody who works on the interwebs? But it's incredibly sad. My first exposure to the Internet came when I started college in... the same year Salon launched. The constants over all of those years have been Salon and porn.

    postscript: Writers, back up your work. Salon remaining online. But in general, you never know. Chi Tribune took offline almost all of my work. If I hadnt saved it, Battlestar Galactica book I just finished woulda been much tougher to complete Not paid for this but Authory is helpful re archiving!
