    I wonder if dogs think that once a year their owners lose their mind and forget that dogs don’t wear clothes. get really insistent and weird about putting clothes on them, and then take them out for a walk and all the OTHER dogs are wearing clothes and the dog is like “wait…DO we wear clothes??”

    Judging by the profusion of hilariously poignant pictures of dogs and cats looking deeply annoyed or theatrically kinda hurt by the cruelty of being made to wear costumes, I'm guessing that "an epidemic of learned helplessness" happened.
