  You can put a lot into custom instructions, but ... beware! I gave it a lot of information and then found it was constantly trying to chat me up. "Well, this will certainly appeal to you because of your interest in literature." "Are you going to use that in one of your classes?" Sweet but cringe.

  I ended up cutting back on the info, *and* also writing custom instructions that said "Generally, I just want direct answers. If I address you with a nickname, that means it's fine to joke, ask me why I'm interested, use personal background &c. Otherwise, keep it plain."
