    Good. No idea how true this post is but “being a nasty bigot to the Democratic nominee and flouncing into an endorsement of a nasty bigoted Republican” should be grounds for expulsion from the party. NY Dems failed this test against Cuomo. I’m glad MI Dems seem to be holding the principle.

    Pay close attention to which candidates are described as “moderate” — and why they’re called this — to get a sense of whether journalists consider plain spoken bigotry a mainstream view or not. It’s pretty shocking to me (probably shouldn’t be) to see how many will do this still in 2026.

    Make bigotry toxic in the party. Kick them out. Don’t vote for them. We will not ever defeat Trumpism so long as we allow its most toxic beliefs to be welcome in the party. We have to say no to all of it and to everyone who embraces it. We should not make space for them or their immoral beliefs.

    We won’t learn from these incidents so long as people flip offender and victim. Stevens was openly bigoted toward the nominee, who responded she was no longer welcome in his campaign, and then she endorsed another bigot. The througline is Haley Stevens’ bigotry, not el-Sayed responding once.
