    I think 2026 will be a unique year for AI detection scandals. Many of the books now under scrutiny for AI use probably went through agents & editors in ms form in 2024–2025, before the industry was really thinking about AI writing or had any methods of identifying AI-assisted writing.

    I guess if big publishing's death embrace of generative-AI means that it's impossible to fight against the use of AI in publishing, the golden age of the zero-gen-AI indie author is beginning. Support indie authors for the sake of the environment, ethics, and all those other reasons!
