Day 1 of our recent East Yorkshire tour started around Spurn Pt which produced SHORT-EARED OWL (pic by @paulebirder.bsky.social), ISABELLINE SHRIKE, REDWINGS galore and GREAT EGRET among others. #BirdsSeenIn2026 #Yorkshirebirding #birds #birding #ukbirding @britishnatureguide.bsky.social

Good to find a jack snipe early this morning at little marsh otter nr. Wouldn't of seen it without the help of a green sandpiper that caught my eye while watching the geese. Got some poor video footage of it though made worse by stabilizing it & cutting down the time. #UKBirding #Devonbirds.

It's a pain that bsky.social don't let you put video & pics up in one post like X but hey ho.Most people make their videos or pics better looking etc but no I make em look worse 🙄😂.Only do it on phone but quality has diminished when stabilizing & shortening it for certain #UKBirding #Devonbirds..

As weeks in birding go, this one has been pretty memorable. A week cut short on Scillies saw no new arrivals but cleared up on what was there (always feeling we were missing out on the east coast action). So north to Flamborough before home to Norfolk. Just wow! #rarebirdsuk

Not really headline birds, but today’s movement of grey geese over the Triangle at Spurn has been spectacular. Mostly Russian Whitefronts heading south (plus a few grounded on the Straight), but a nice group of 9 Tundra Beans was a real treat. #phonescoped
