Roughly the same people were also saying "Well Ao3 was already scraped for AI once, so why does it matter where we share the fics now?" Missing the point of consent aside, there's been countless things posted AFTER the scrape, that hadn't been. They just really don't care and it kills me.
Voir le postIt was genuinely very jarring to see. Though I do get why people feel that way, if you consider they don't see fic as an interactive thing. This is just content to be consumed and so the idea that they need consent to pass it around the same way they pass around memes and art around.
Voir le postSeeing readers mocking authors for asking consent before re-uploading their work on other websites is heartbreaking and demoralizing. Like I thought we were all in agreement that consent and boundary respecting was important, why are both of those things being thrown out for fic authors.

Voir le postSorry for the late responses!! Im seeing and appreciating everything but my content seems to do better on bsky when i stagger replies T_T
