    Got it. So the argument here then is less “students will choose to use AI if they can do so” and more “systems that pressure students to compete will inevitably result in AI usage”?

    I do think this is also going to end up sorting on institutional and class lines. I'm not surprised that students at an Ivy are incentivized/supported to do their own thinking and reading while kids at commuters are left to the school's chatbot subscription and get used to them
