    But what does ok mean? Does it mean physically or mentally? Does it mean safe or well or warm or enjoying life? Or does it mean are you surviving, are you still alive? What do they want me to say? If I'm not ok , do they want me to lie? I simply don't know what to say. So I've not replied.

    You can say that you are grieving, that you are struggling. Many people ask whether someone is ok cause that is the most neutral way of asking, I think. (Somehow easier than 'how are you?') Even if they know you are not ok. If they are friends I would just say it is all shit (or however you want)

    When some1 messages me, who knows what my current circs are & about the dog etc, asking if I'm ok, what am I supposed to say? I'm not ok. They knew I wasnt ok 10 days ago. They know I'm totally alone & will be grieving & unable to return to my flat. I genuinely don't know how to respond.
