Day 31: What We Do in the Shadows (2014) I haven't watched this since it came out, and at the time, I didn't vibe with the dry New Zealand humor. Revisiting it 12 years later, it's one of the best pieces of modern vampire media. Just an uncomplicated, clever, well-written exploration of the genre.

Day 30: Late Night with the Devil (2023) Excellent stuff. I thought the digital effects were quite out-of-place - thankfully, the film uses them sparingly - and you'll probably figure out the big reveals long before the film believes you will. Still, a phenomenally immersive twist on found footage.

Day 29: The Shining (1980) What can I say that hasn't already been said? I can hardly find fault with a film so immaculately assembled - I especially love the overwhelming sinister intensity of the soundtrack. So glad I revisited this, it's been years. Probably time to finally see Room 237 as well.

Day 27: The Descent (2005) For me, it's a touch heavy on super-loud audio stings and the shock of violence against women, but those elements are damn effective. The disorienting chiaroscuro lighting goes nuts at midnight with the lights out, and the superb sets complement the bleak tone amazingly.

Day 26: The Mummy (1932) It was disappointing to figure out halfway through that it's basically Dracula if the count was Egyptian, but the filmmaking excellence sustains it regardless. Karloff's mummy is truly unsettling, and the special effects convey his dreadful presence with eerie simplicity.
