A totally earth shattering moment when a Rufous-tailed Robin appeared in front of me at South Landing @flamboroughbird.bsky.social this morning. Still trying to process it! Very pleased a few others managed to see it this afternoon. Not sure I’ll top this one for a while! #ukbirding #rarebirdsuk

After a year or so of working in Essex it would have been rude not to go and see the fantastic Fisher's Estuarine Moth recently. As good as mothing gets - awesome moths in a wonderfully atmospheric setting. Great to see the equally-rare Hog's Fennel specialist Agonopterix putridella too #UKMoths

I cannot think of a better photo that sums up the juxtaposition between our natural world and London. Taken by the late Mark Davis, who was standing at the top of Leith Hill Tower (Surrey) looking north. The straw-coloured patch is the Box Hill lookout. I’m standing half-way down slope from there.
