    OTD 25 yrs ago: Day trip to Scilly, for Cliff Swallow, watched down to 2m on the Garrison. Rough-legged Buzzard (assumed to be N. American race) seen on Great Gannily, Magpie(!) on St. Martins. Found what was probably an Eastern Yellow Wagtail, but it wasn’t a thing then, so we moved on. 😳

    Gave the SW Hants trap a whirl last night, 19 of 11 a reasonable return for the date. Feathered Thorn (x2) takes the garden year list to 499, well down on last year's 550 and 512 the year before. Also Turnip, White Point and a late Lunar Underwing of note. #teammoth

    #TeamMoth Warmer last night in VC80, but fewer moths, although 31/12 in November's not to be sniffed at! Scarce Umber NFY, 6th & 7th December Moths of autumn and 3 Spruce Carpet were notable, and the regular Blastobasis vittata continue to appear. 1500+ Pink-footed Geese and a few Whoopers over.
