“the flattening of the entire subjective human experience into a lifeless exchange of value that benefits nobody, except for, you know, a handful of bug-eyed salamanders in Silicon Valley… Maybe that as a way of life forever… maybe that’s not good.”

HOLY FUCKING SHIT a whistleblower FBI agent in the Broadview 6 case is resigning and suing the DOJ because he said President Trump, Todd Blanche and Kash Patel forced him to charge @katmabu.bsky.social for political reasons, then tried to make him the fall guy. www.wbez.org/crime/2026/1...

Voir le postPeople, well meaning ones absolutely not the hedge goblins, are like: do you have PTSD from these last years? And like no, I survived years of domestic abuse; then I had PTSD and was treated for it. Now I'm just disgusted and angry & happy to lose fake friends and be evermore eccentric and ascetic.
Voir le postLosing friends over this like with many stands against injustice is a journey for many and esp women, but it's also extra personal for some of us because we realise our (ex) friends never cared about our field of study until it became "AI" and then they want to listen to men in industry about it.
Voir le postIf you're an academic, maybe consider that it isn't a serious position to pseudo hedge statements: "Ivermectin isn't good for COVID, but might be good for the next pandemic" isn't a normal sentence in scholarly work. It's a rhetorical trick that makes you an (accidental) industry stooge.
