the wrong that was done to Morgoth, Sauron, the Balrogs, etc, was that Morgoth didn't get everything he wanted (total dominion over the material world) and as a result Morgoth had a tantrum and decided to ruin the world, and this inspired a bunch of petty but powerful assholes like Sauron

i don't think they actually understood tolkien. i mean they don't understand any of this but the balrog specifically is such a dumb pull here and it tells me they are actually only familiar with the LOTR from the movies
