Like my work or not, it’s all good as long as you looked at it first. Coming to Bluesky as an anonymous user and creating a blocklist to disappear some of the hardest-working Trump critics out there when you admit you don’t know much about them? No. Doing it as a Russian-speaking Putinist? Hell no.

OMG—this anonymous guy got everyone to adopt his blocklists, even some very respected journalists... ...and not only did he put me on his list because I blocked him for trolling me on Twitter, he now says he didn't even know I wrote books when he blocklisted me. Folks... we need better than this.

Yeah, I refused to use them before, but now that I know there’s nothing behind them at all—no thought, just grudges and nonsense—I absolutely never will. At this point I’d even go name-by-name through a blocklist by my mom. And the idea that they get updated without you knowing? No—no. Quadruple no.

If you’re wondering how a leading Trump biographer ends up on a massive blocklist run by an apparently Soviet-born Putinist hacker that supposedly media-literate progressives instantly signed up for despite its creator being anonymous, I guess blocking a man who trolled you on Twitter will do it.
