i made s&k alt mainly because leilani wilson had done s3 alt, which slowly then became a love letter for the musicians i have grown up with and have influenced my arranging and writing styles this is why you hear a lot of tracks that are very deliberately made to imitate specific programmers' sound
Voir le postevery day i'm surprised by s&k alt's impact esp with the amount of remixes out there but i will say i have grown much warmer for its reception because it does have some of my best work there's plagiarism here and there but i look back at my shortcomings as a product of writing it out of obligation
Voir le postit's not to say that criticisms aren't important but that you have to be diligent to sift through the opinions of people that are giving serious feedback and the reactionaries that are personally hurt that someone had the guts to have their favorite thing to be changed in the first place
Voir le postWoah, people really liked this post. I'm glad cuz it's something I've been thinking a lot about. I even made a Zine a while back talking about some of these issues, so if y'all dont mind, I'll link to it so you can read on your phone for free! pagodrink.itch.io/hogging-game...
Voir le postNobody who is making this statement is thinking about games like Venba, Sorry We're Closed, Dreams on a Pillow, Disco Elysium, Mundaun etc. Games that actively challenge the player with what it's trying to say while their YT recommendations haunts them with Asmongold clips
