    Because if that's how "principled" ppl act, then non politically educated and trauma informed ppl are gonna be even worse with their inquiries about being disabled that refuses a huge deficit in equitable competency and understanding ...

    I'm reminded how ignorant disabled ppl are of disabled existence on a regular basis. And then I'm less optimistic about disability justice, and esp those who take up alot of space in social justice that aren't holding disability justice equality high on priorities.

    For me it illustrates a lack of understanding of disability as a concept. The way that ppl talk about mobility aids. This is a huge indictment on why our society gatekeeps mobility aids (that I blame on the privatization of transportation and health care that's gotten worse with AI slop)

    It doesn't give me much "millenials optimism" to see that able bodied ppl have a huge lack of competency when it comes to mobility aids and that very much drives the stigma around funding and general public acceptance.

    Then ofc there's the attitudes around "well they must be faking" that u can go into even more specifics with, post proof countering and it's an endless loop of "burden of proof" ableism. Which is just as connected to denial and ignorance.
