    I remember during the 2008 Obama wave, a majority of California voters voted to strip same-sex couples of marriage equality and nobody stopped to go "wait this is fucked up actually, this system is bad". No they've kept jacking off the people California with these catastrophic decisions for 20 years

    I'm of the same age & was also at uni during the war on terror years. Which is why recent dewey eyed chat on here about a magical time a few years ago [!!] when the world seemed a better place is simply so unrelatable. The world has been being visibly, tangibly, driven to shit my whole life
