    In the past, the need to be a dynamic, nimble public speaker wasn’t as great. Nor when a member of your party was in the White House. But having rizz doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a good legislative leader on other fronts. Is part of the current issue a structural problem that will persist?

    The specifics of Schumer and Jeffries aside, I wonder if these roles shouldn’t have spokespeople. Pelosi, too, was a pretty terrible public speaker, if an excellent caucus wrangler.
