    And it's hard to get notes on something you worked your ass off on and believe in and not take it personally. That doesn't come naturally. That's a skill you have to learn and a muscle you need to exercise, but it is THE thing that will let you keep a career as a creative professional.

    This entire thread applies to working in film too. The most important skill I learned was to find "the note behind the note." When someone gives a note, the problem that caused the note may have occurred well before that. It's about reverse engineering the problem source, not where pain appears.
