  THIS!! I think it is a more poignant message overall if Vassago doesn't have some ill-intent behind him. Stolas choosing Blitz over Vassago despite Vassago being someone who treats him well and can provide for him I think is a better message of love than, "Vassago was a bad guy the whole time."
