    my theory is that it would take “having a complicated relationship with your gender/sex” to be as common as “loving someone else” or “having a religious faith” or “being from a different place” for people to relate to trans people enough to see us as human. but idk how that could happen

    so i don’t really have any hope that cis people will stand up for us soon. and i don’t think it’s just because of the numbers; other single-digit minorities seem to get a good bit more sympathy, at least when that sympathy is given out, imo.

    we have proven that the american voter can still react to negative stimulus, like some sort of amoeba. but their response to anything else is still seemingly dominated by echoing the last behavior they’ve been presented with; they have no true convictions, just what the fascist media last told them

    Yeah it's a bittersweet win for me too... Here in Colorado, Three ballot measures that were being pushed by a transphobic org past under the guise of "protect the kids"... It worries me a decent bit despite my best hopes.
