Can’t grumble with a spanking male Desert Wheatear just 300 yards from my front door in Kessingland Dunes late afternoon today. A great find by @stuartreeves.bsky.social

37 years ago on this day I managed to see Landguard's only and Suffolk's second Yellow-billed Cuckoo thanks to a phone call from Colin Ruffles to where I was working in the Port of Felixstowe, hard to imagine a world without mobiles nowadays

As weeks in birding go, this one has been pretty memorable. A week cut short on Scillies saw no new arrivals but cleared up on what was there (always feeling we were missing out on the east coast action). So north to Flamborough before home to Norfolk. Just wow! #rarebirdsuk

Rufous-tailed Robin at South Landing today 💥 Had to wait just over 4 hours for it to appear, but it was worth the wait. Nice to add it to the Sibe Blue from a few weeks ago 🤗 Thanks to Will Soar for the BOC & @neilchambers78 for driving 👍 Also, Pallas's & YBW at Bempton. #RareBirdsUK

Daurian Shrike, Lanius isabellinus between Kessingland and Pakefield yesterday and again today. Highlights of this morning were a mega close Sabine’s Gull, Firecrest, a big White-fronted Goose movement and an ‘eastern’ Greylag Goose.
