Voir le postA few birds arriving in off the sea at Newton Pool this morning, mainly thrushes but a few finches and Skylarks too. Best of the bunch was a nice Mealy Redpoll, later trapped and ringed. Also lurking was a Cetti's Warbler, seen 4 here now, all in late Oct/Nov. #NEbirding #BirdRinging
Voir le postMesmerising vismig on the DFDS ferry from IJmuiden yesterday evening. Standing on the rear deck after dark, listening to an endless stream of redwings, starlings, finches etc attracted by the light. This water rail caught a lift in a quiet corner. Ship assisted rail migration is a thing, apparently.
