recently i was looking up all the reviews for fire emblem: fortune's weave and tbh i was really surprised by how positive they all were. i feel like that game becomes such a slog later & contains so many chores i wish weren't there. but if i played all ~130 hours of it in a fugue state... who knows?

i feel glad that i don't really have examples of games where i crammed for the review and later disagreed with my past self. but that happens too. just go back and look at embargo-day reviews of metroid: other M. you'll be shocked to see the acclaim that game saw at first. that's just one example!

i imagine the consequence of this will be a near immediate retreat of most legitimate porn companies and distributors from the uk, correctly seeing it as ground too volatile to do business, leaving a grey market in its vacuum with a massive increase in precarity for sex workers here

this stuff is not illegal globally and will to some extent be present on almost every website with explicit content on the internet and no one is going to do hyper-specific uk moderation. millions will now be technically committing crimes just scrolling social media, even after age verification
