I've worked with some good numerical methods people. Afaict, their work falls into >= 2 categories: business logic where rounding modes are mandated by statute, and simulations often use floating point to squeeze more iterations/sec out of a monte-carlo loop. Math tool choices are situational.

what's interesting is that it was effectively a bug in the weights, and it fixed it, but when they tried the same, lifting ability on a smaller model, it didn't do much it can unlock (fix), but not grant, still interesting, ofc

Also: as others have pointed out the obvious male comparison is John Fetterman, who clearly DID have multiple mental health and neurological issues factoring into his behavior, a fact that has been discussed publicly at length!
