    I do not use LLMs because I see them like cigarettes when they first came out, just because other people like it doesn’t mean I’m going to try it before we see what happens to the first batch of long-term users but people who do choose to use them NEED to be aware that they make stuff up

    I have lost count of how many people (including people both older and younger than me) I’ve talked to about LLMs who did not know they are capable of making stuff up. “hallucinating” is an industry term to get people to skip over it because they don’t know it means “making stuff up.”
