There are 50+ skin shades which need to gracefully blend with a lot of hair tints, so the engine needs to be capable of overlaying skin + hair in a way that always work, no matter if transparency or not. It's not possible atm but we are exploring options

Blockbench currently lacks pressure options for pen tablet so it's not the best for painting "yet". But some sources have told me Blockbench dev plans to add pen tablet support soon! I personally use photoshop for now
