Like there's a part of my brain now that evaluates "is this something the artist will like long term, or short term? if I am too enthusiastic now will that piss them off later" and then I realize I'm giving them the "are they breathing in an angry way" hyper-vigilance treatment, hit like and move on

Like I get being frustrated if you moved on a long time ago and people are bugging you about it but I mean I've seen people get mad at the audience *before the audience has been told they intend to move on* and sometimes I think about that when I enjoy someone's work

A behavior among online artists which I have seen again and again over the last 20+ years, but still remains utterly mystifying to me, is when someone is really really into something, and attracts a following for it, then is mad at them for liking it when they lose interest
