My sister had the same response when she went to a doctor about A Lump that needed scanning. (it was fine). Our dad had male breast cancer in his thirties (he is okay now), we have to be very vigilant and being treated as though it is baseless anxiety is both cruel and bizarre.

She sounds like a remarkable person. I'm sad you lost her too soon. I think diagnosis and treatment of PD have gotten better over the years but there's still a long way to go.

Thanks. She was one of my favourite people in the world and I miss her a lot. It took a *huge* toll on my dad and his siblings, and my granddad died not long after, sort of... of grief. I was 12 when she passed and we'd been to see her in hospital in the coma multiple times.

She was one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, she had left school at 12 because of circumstances and she had been so good at researching and managing her condition. I do really think that with better luck and the right doc she might have lasted a very long time.

People are being horrifically ableist about a horrible disease which is under studied, and whose sufferers often deal with medical incompetence and medical ableism. (My very lovely paternal grandmother had early onset PD and died at 62 because an idiot put her in a potassium drip)
