    like it was decidedly not that and in fact black people are and were consistently made fun of for talking “unintelligently” and then when white people started using it it became just slang and funny and it’s a very genuinely uncomfortable and awful component of institutionalized racism

    I could always be wrong but I do think there’s a way to make a character that’s like young and gyaru without having them sound absolutely and completely ridiculous because they’re using aave all the fucking times. sorry.
