I went through some logs tonight and hell, some small projects written by one person, with a just gituhub page, have the presence of mind to put in a proper user agent string that shows where the project is located. Mostly RSS readers.

Warm & wet: October 2026 ended up San Diego's 2nd warmest October on record. The average temperature, 73°, was 4.9° above normal. The average high, 81.5, was the hottest on record. The rainfall total, 1.68 inches, was more than 3X the normal of 0.50 & the 12th most on record. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

No mind-boggling rainfall totals in San Diego County over the last 24 hours, and none are expected through the rest of the day. But it's enough rain for people with automatic sprinkler systems to turn them off and leave them off for several days at minimum. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

If only they could just set a user agent for all these things and be readily identifiable. I'd imagine this is usually laziness and not the desire to go around undetected but it is annoying.
