    A clever change that Underspace makes to the Freelancer trading system (go play Underspace) is the concept of economy heat: Buying a commodity temporarily raises its price at that station, and selling temporarily lowers its price. This is clever for both the player, and the developer:

    Entirely unrelated games. But Underspace has a demo! The game really is Freelancer in every way that matters. Like, the dev just flatly says as much. Rather than try to mod his ideas into Freelancer, he decided to just remake Freelancer from scratch, giving him total control over the game systems.

    Oh nice, big update arrived for Underspace (indie spiritual successor to Freelancer) with full mod support, better multiplayer, etc. v1.0 and it leaving early access is in sight. Only big tasks are the multiplayer sandbox campaign mode and voicework for the single-player story mode. 50% off now!
