I've not had much bird-finding luck for a while so it was nice to change that yesterday with Norfolk's first Black-faced Bunting. On its own and feeding in the Suaeda, it became restless and increased calling late morning before seemingly moving on, sadly meaning few got to see it. #NorfolkBirding

A Sibe chiffchaff was the bird of the day for me, showy well and calling in the mizzle at Folkestone warren this afternoon. #kentbirding

Incredible views of this Common Quail at Ringasta, Shetland today. It has been an exceptional year for this migratory species in Shetland but given the fact it is early November, we'd expect it to be well on its way to sub-Saharan Africa by now. #BirdingScotland #UKbirding #Birds #UKWildlife

Dundee isn't really known for its rare birds, but as today's Eurasian Crag-Martin shows, even the most marginal urban habitat (a chimney stack from the old jute mill, in this case) can provide something for a bird that finds itself out of range at the end of autumn! #BirdingScotland #RareBirdsUK

have been unfaithful to Norfolk today by heading south of the border to Kessingland. I regretted it when news of the BFB came through. But now happy again - have found a vocal Hume’s warbler just north of Pakefield Coastwatch. It favours willows beside the holiday camp
