Obviously in some kind of tabletop situation this can be different, but I mean in places like MMO RP hubs. Yes this is me blasting people in Pocket D who are from other dimensions/times/etc and make everything about them. I'm not too proud.

It's not an opportunity for people to show off their character's individuality if they have to stop to answer what money is, or what a president is or so on. Roleplay should be give and take, not just "here's my character, nothing else matters besides tolerating them while I'm here"

I wish I could explain to the entire world at once how obnoxiously selfish it is to walk up to people in an RP hub playing a character who needs every aspect of reality explained to them. It's not cute. It's not fun. It's the most obnoxious version of main character syndrome that I see on the reg.

Trek at its best is a wonderful vision of a future where people are their best selves and make the universe a better place for everyone in it. But uh man when it misses the mark it *misses*.
