i was talking to some people on the ao3 subreddits (very toxic, would not recommend) and i came to the realization that a lot of people who read fic and thus follow the sub don't... participate in fandom? like at all? like they read ao3 and that's it

we're in the same boat guys, always have been, just because this is your first really big encounter with absolutely blatant disrespect of your works doesn't mean you have it worse or that artists are some protected species??? we're the same people we share the audience we should work together????

are you deliberately ignoring the pinterest elephant in the room? the pelefant if you will? or the art reposting pages that were especially prolific a few years ago, reposting tons of art without credit, farming likes, profiting off of ad revenue? or scumbags turning art of deceased artists into nft
