Van Hollen, Flanagan, El-Sayed, Jackson, Hamilton, and Stratton have said they either don’t want Schumer as majority leader or that they’re not sold yet. Talarico and Pappas both stressed “new blood” This is not inevitable and there is an incredible amount of chatter for this point in the process

Yesterday, voters made it very clear that they want a new generation of Democratic fighters. We need a leader in the Senate who is capable of leading that fight. It’s time for Senate Democrats to choose new leadership.

My question for any of the ‘Now is the time to reach across the aisle!’ pundits would be, ‘After a historic thumping, why wouldn’t we be asking Republicans to lay down their racism, transphobia, misogyny, and bigotry to reach across the aisle? Isn’t that their only way out of the wilderness?’

Do you want Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries to lead Democrats as they're about to assume control of Congress? Me neither. They're bought and sold and it would undermine any chance we have to fight fascism and enact necessary reform. The good news? This is actually something you can affect.
