    This is petty of me, but it drives me wild that I get scolded by the bus driver if she suspects I haven’t been waiting at the pickup point since 7:25 or earlier, but she arrives whenever the fates deem it appropriate.

    There seems to be a beaver down in the coulee, toying around with the idea of staying for the winter. I’ve heard people say the prairies would be uninhabitable without beavers. And I believe it. They know how to hold on to water in this dry country.

    Today was especially hard because I made the final arrangements for Irv to enter a care centre for dementia patients. I just can’t do it anymore with my liver disease. I am just too weak and limited capabilities. Lots of crying this week and more to come whenever I am discharged from the hospital.
